Bob Dylan Highway 61

Bob Dylan, known for his great musical talents and achievements over the course of his event-full life, managed to craft such a beautiful album recognized as “Highway 61 revisited”. This album which still holds a spot in the Best Albums of All Time contains loads of poetic content that people in today’s standards would recognize as mastery of the musical world. The songs included in the album have a certain blues tone that made way for a whole new world of music. The Rolling Stone is the more famous song on the album and was in the top 200 songs of all time. Even to legend Paul McCartney he states “It seemed to go on and on forever. It was just beautiful ... He showed all of us that it was possible to go a little further”. Also the album contains many examples of poetic devices that portray his musical mastery.
Like A Rolling Stone
Once upon a time you dressed so fine
You threw the bums a dime in your prime, didn't you?
People'd call, say, "Beware doll, you're bound to fall"
You thought they were all kiddin' you
You used to laugh about
Everybody that was hangin' out
Now you don't talk so loud
Now you don't seem so proud
About having to be scrounging for your next meal.
How does it feel
How does it feel
To be without a home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone?
You've gone to the finest school all right, Miss Lonely
But you know you only used to get juiced in it
And nobody has ever taught you how to live on the street
And now you find out you're gonna have to get used to it
You said you'd never compromise
With the mystery tramp, but now you realize
He's not selling any alibis
As you stare into the vacuum of his eyes
And ask him do you want to make a deal?
How does it feel
How does it feel
To be on your own
With no direction home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone?
You never turned around to see the frowns on the jugglers and the clowns
When they all come down and did tricks for you
You never understood that it ain't no good
You shouldn't let other people get your kicks for you
You used to ride on the chrome horse with your diplomat
Who carried on his shoulder a Siamese cat
Ain't it hard when you discover that
He really wasn't where it's at
After he took from you everything he could steal.
How does it feel
How does it feel
To be on your own
With no direction home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone?
Princess on the steeple and all the pretty people
They're drinkin', thinkin' that they got it made
Exchanging all kinds of precious gifts and things
But you'd better lift your diamond ring, you'd better pawn it babe
You used to be so amused
At Napoleon in rags and the language that he used
Go to him now, he calls you, you can't refuse
When you got nothing, you got nothing to lose
You're invisible now, you got no secrets to conceal.
How does it feel
How does it feel
To be on your own
With no direction home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone?
This song has a narrative tone to it which reveals a story of a person who was once wealthy and ignorant however finds himself becoming poor and now begging other people for help.

Rock & Roll Band by Boston

Well, we were just another band out of boston
On the road to try to make ends meet
Playin all the bars, sleepin in our cars
And we practiced right on out in the street
No, we didnt have much money
We barely made enough to survive
But when we got up on stage and got ready to play
People came alive.

Rock and roll band
Everybodys waitin
Gettin crazy
Anticipating love and music
Play, play, play, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Dancin in the streets of hyannis
We were getting pretty good at the game
People stood in line and didnt seem to mind
You know everybody knew our name
Livin on rock-n-roll music
Never worry bout the things we were missing
When we got up on the stage and got ready to play
Everybodyd listen.

Rock and roll band
Everybodys waitin
Gettin crazy
Anticipating love and music
Play, play, play, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Playin for a week in rhode island
A man came to the stage one night
He smoked a big cigar
Drove a cadillac car
And said, boys, I think this bands outta-sight
Sign a record company contract
You know Ive got great expectations
When I hear you on the car radio
Youre goin to be a sensation!

Rock and roll band
Everybodys waitin
Gettin crazy
Anticipating love and music
Play, play, play, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Paradise City by Guns' N 'Roses

Take me down
To the paradise city
Where the grass is green
And the girls are pretty
Oh, won't you please take me home

Take me down
To the paradise city
Where the grass is green
And the girls are pretty
Oh, won't you please take me home

Just an urchin living under the street
I'm a hard case that's tough to beat
I'm your charity case
So buy me something to eat
I'll pay you at another time
Take it to the end of the line

Rags to riches or so they say
You got to - keep pushing for the fortune and fame you know
It's all a gamble when it's just a game
You treat it like a capital crime
Everybody's doing their time

Take me down
To the paradise city
Where the grass is green
And the girls are pretty
Oh, won't you please take me home

Take me down
To the paradise city
Where the grass is green
And the girls are pretty
Take me home

Strapped in the chair of the city's gas chamber
Why I'm here I can't quite remember
The surgeon general says it's hazardous to breathe
I'd have another cigarette but I can't see
Tell me who you're going to believe

Take me down
To the paradise city
Where the grass is green
And the girls are pretty
Take me home

Take me down
To the paradise city
Where the grass is green
And the girls are pretty
Oh, won't you please take me home

So far away
So far away
So far away
So far away

Captain America's been torn apart
Now he's a court jester with a broken heart
He said -
Turn me around and take me back to the start
I must be losing my mind -
"Are you blind?!"
I've seen it all a million times

Take me down
To the paradise city
Where the grass is green
And the girls are pretty
Take me home

Take me down
To the paradise city
Where the grass is green
And the girls are pretty
Oh, won't you please take me home

I want to go
I want to know
Oh, won't you please take me home

I want to see
Oh, look at me
Oh, won't you please take me home

Take me down
To the paradise city
Where the grass is green
And the girls are pretty
Take me home

Take me down
To the paradise city
Where the grass is green
And the girls are pretty
Oh, won't you please take me home

Take me down
Beat me down
Oh, won't you please take me home

I want to see
Oh, look at me
Oh, won't you please take me home

I want to see
Boy, I'm going to be mean
Oh, oh take me home

Take me down
To the paradise city
Where the grass is green
And the girls are pretty
Oh, won't you please take me home

I want to go
I want to know
Oh, won't you please take me home
Yeah, baby
Yeah
